Lighthouses have always interested me. Growing up on Long Island I had a wonderful opportunity to spend summer nights visiting Montauk Point and of course ..the beautiful and historic light house.   Visiting many parts of the country as I got older allowed me to begin comparing and researching many of these structures.  It is my intention to use this blog as a platform to share the history of lighthouses in America.
